Hey there! Let’s make your book the best and truest version of itself.

(Disclaimer: This is not a photo of me. It is Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights, as portrayed by Kyle Chandler. But this is the vibe I will bring to the work. To see an actual photo of me, visit this website’s home page.)

After more than a decade writing and publishing novels, including collaborations with filmmakers Darren Aronofsky & Ari Handel and YouTube stars Rhett McLaughlin & Link Neal, I’m excited to offer up my expertise and love for storytelling to YOU.

Writing books can be a lonely business, so I want to help you through it! I’ve been critiquing the work of author friends for years, and I love the process of lifting a story up to its full potential, whether it’s revising a third draft, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the fifty first pages of something new, or brainstorming ideas for a project that’s just getting underway.

I will NOT let this happen to you.

Before my first novel came out in 2015, I was an actor, but I was also writing sketch comedy and musicals. I’ve been working out story structure, character, and plot for decades. Really, I’ve been obsessed with story since I first watched Back to the Future when I was five.

Figuring out a story is like solving a puzzle. AND I LOVE PUZZLES. Elements I’ll focus on with you include: plot, structure, characterization, dialogue, pacing, comedic beats, story continuity/logic, and all-around cheerleading.

Because it’s 2026, I must mention here that I will absolutely not use any AI in our work together. I also must mention that I can’t work with anyone who has used, or is using, AI in the creation of the project we’ll be assessing.

I write YA and MG, so those worlds are my specialty—especially contemporary, funny, speculative, romance, thriller, and sci-fi, with an affinity for friendship and family arcs. That said, I’m also an avid reader of adult literary fiction and narrative nonfiction, so if that’s your wheelhouse, reach out, and we’ll discuss!

At this point, I have been in the trenches through many books, which means I know how easy it is to lose your way and feel like a total failure. So let me hop down into that trench alongside you! I’ll provide kindness, wisdom, publishing advice, and many laughs along the way!

Lance is one of my favorite writers, and being able to get notes from him has been amazing. He has a great mind for big picture things like plot and structure, but also small fixes to scenes, and dialogue punch-ups. One of the kindest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever gotten to work with.
— Greg Andree, YA/MG writer and middle school English teacher

All that’s left to do now is reach out and get the conversation started. I look forward to hearing from you!
